Mindfulness is moment to moment awareness of one’s experience, without judgement.

It is a way to look after ourselves - the ability to harness attention in the agenda of self care. And to anchor one’s self in experience so that when a disturbing emotion arises the mind simply remains stable.

Rumination can be nipped in the bud, and instead a different place to stand and work with thoughts and emotions is cultivated - allowing for greater freedom to respond intentionally, develop resilience and choose healthier responses.

All that we are looking for in life - all the happiness, contentment, and peace of mind - is right here in the present moment.
— Mingyur Rinpoche

Mindfulness helps us get back in touch with the experience of being alive,  taking more pleasure in the good things that often go unnoticed or unappreciated.

The practice of meditation is not a passive, navel gazing luxury for people looking to escape the rigours of our complex world. Mindfulness and meditation are about deeply changing ourselves so that we can be the change that we see needed for the world.
